Hello, Dear Blalkers!
I'm sure you haven't missed my absence, but I certainly have been gone a while. I missed you.
Okay...so maybe I really haven't thought about it that much. Every so often over the past few months I've had a moment that I briefly contemplated blogging about. But it didn't happen. Obviously.
But I'm back.
I have a lot of catching up to do!
Christmas....Miles's First Birthday. Valentine's Day. Easter.
They're coming. I promise.
And this time, I really do.
Expect a barrage of photo posts and past information coming your way.
Prepare.
Anticipate.
Await.
Love and Rockets,
Bergen

November 30th: Ready
Today, I'm thankful for the holiday season we are heading into!
It's our very first Christmas with Miles. I am so very excited.
Our tradition is to put our decorations up the Friday after Thanksgiving. I was a little worried about Miles and the tree. So far, so good. He is in awe of it.
This marks the last thankful post for the month. I may not have posted every day. But I did post 30 thankful tidbits. I am proud of myself.
Suggestions for the month of December daily post are welcome.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Today, I'm thankful for food, family and everything that goes with it!
Here is a video of Miles eating his Thanksgiving meal...which he hated.
Mmmm...turkey and turkey gravy...My favorite part is the shudder.
Have a great day!

November 29th: Wind Blown
Today, I'm grateful for my family!
We took family pictures today. We had a thousand mile an hour winds (not literally, but it sure felt like it) and decided to move forward with them anyway!
We actually had some pretty great success with them.

Today, I'm grateful for great deals.
We braved the crowds as is my husband's family tradition and went Grey Thursday/Black Friday shopping.
It was mostly Thursday shopping. The crowds weren't nearly as bad this year as they have been in the past. We got everything we wanted and more, and were home before midnight! It was fabulous!
I am so happy! I love a great deal. I love sleep. This year I got both!
Here's me and my mother in law browsing a craft store!

Today, I'm thankful for my husband.
I really did just get extremely lucky in my choice.
I'm glad he chose me. I'm glad he loves me.
We have a good relationship! We're both pretty laid back and we both have the same humor. Our home is filled with laughter and I love that.
We work together really well. And for him, I'm grateful!

November 25th: Excited!
Today, I'm thankful for social media and the opportunities it presents.
I am hosting an online Jamberry Nail Wrap party for my good friend, Hailey! It started yesterday and will go until the end of the week. I am so blown away by the response I have received so far.
It might seem like a silly thing to be thankful for, but helping my friend out with her job is really important to me. Being a stay at home mom is great, but being able to work as a consultant and stay home is even better! I am really proud to support her endeavors!
Also, Jamberry is AWESOME!
Drop by my Facebook page to join in on the fun. If parties aren't your thing, drop by the website and browse through the 300+ wrap designs and place an order! Almost all of them are buy 3 get 1 free.
They make great gifts, stocking stuffers and self-treats!

These are my fingers and toes. On my fingers: Simply Daisy On my toes: Lunar Landing
They really are such fun! Let me know if you want a free sample! :) I'll hook you up!

November 24th: Panged
Today, my baby boy, my first born son, my sweet, little thing....is 10 months old.
I have mixed emotions today. I am so glad he is growing, healthy and developing. I am so sad that he's not my sweet little, dependent baby anymore.
He's growing up. He's grown up. Newborn and 10 months---a world of difference.
My heart swells and overflows with joy and gratitude that he is a part of my life.
They really do grow too fast.

November 23rd: Old
Today, I'm grateful for my youngest brother, Porter.
He turned 16 today. I remember when my parents brought him home from the hospital. Apart from Miles, he was the most loved baby I've ever been around. Man we loved him.
We still do. He's so much fun. He's witty and sarcastic, and was definitely meant to be a part of our family.
Happy Birthday, Port! You're my favorite 6 ft 4 1/2 brother!

Today, I'm thankful for the miracle of child birth. I'm thankful for families and new babies.
Our good friends, David and Rosie had their sweet baby girl today. She is their very first!
I found myself feeling nostalgic today...because my baby will be 10 months old tomorrow. (I may cry!) I remember when Miles was born. I remember feeling so, so happy. I know that our good friends are feeling that way right now.
Welcome to the world, little Grace! We love you already!
I don't have a picture today, since I don't want to share their picture without their consent. But she is a cute, precious little thing.
Babies make everything better.

Today, I'm thankful for fun nails.
My sister did these for me in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. They took over 2 hours, and a few tries, but they are so fun!

November 20th: Cleaned
Today, I'm grateful for our Dirt Devil. It cleans up the cracker crumbs that my little guy seems to trail behind him constantly.
At first, Miles wasn't so sure about it. Now, he won't stop playing with it:

November 19th: Glad
Today, I'm thankful for messes.
An odd thing to be grateful for, I grant you, but it means I have a healthy, active baby. It means we have enough possessions to make a mess.
It means I have spent all day crawling around, playing with my baby instead of worrying about keeping a clean house.
It means we live here, play here and like it.
It makes me thankful.

November 18th: Proud
Today, I'm thankful for Miles and the progress he is constantly making.
He's discovering everything in the world around him, and is crawling and climbing on everything!
He's so close to walking, it's scary.
I do miss my sweet baby who just needed to be held and loved. But I do love my new active baby who wants to touch and eat everything.
He's the best baby, and he's all mine.
And for that, I'm thankful.

November 17th: Refreshed
Tonight, I'm thankful for early bedtimes.
After a late night last night, an early morning and a full day of work today, I am thankful for a sleeping baby so I can finish some things up and then head to bed myself.
Babies are adorable. Sleeping babies are adorable times ten.

Today, I'm thankful for my array of cookbooks and recipes.
Some of my recipes are old, passed down from generations before me. Some of them are new, acquired from Pinterest and other internet searches.
I love my cookbook cupboard. I add to my collection every week. It's my little bit of genealogy, mixed with the family history I'm making now, and for that reason I love it.
I have a delicious recipe for homemade rolls passed down from my great grandmother. I inherited her gene for making delicious rolls. I make them for many of our holiday and family functions. I'm so glad to have it.
I'm grateful that I am blessed with a talent for cooking. I'm thankful for the many resources at my disposal to make my kitchen endeavors worth while.

Today, I'm grateful for my mother-in-law and her thoughtfulness in inviting me to a craft day she was attending.
I really like my mother-in-law...not many people are lucky enough to say that! Spending a majority of the day with her doing some fun crafts was awesome!
I'm not a super crafty person, so the fact that they provided all the materials and had examples was fabulous. I think they all turned out really well. It helped spruce up our house for the upcoming holidays.
I really do like crafting, no matter how horrible at it I am...
It was a lot of fun.

November 14th: Hyped
Today, I'm grateful for a heavy dose of caffeine to help me get through this day.
We haven't been getting much sleep around here lately! Not sure what has disrupted our sleeping pattern so much, but a full day of work and a baby who won't sleep isn't adding up to a productive me.
I'm grateful my husband brings me these when I am needing an extra boost:

November 13th: Simplified
Today, I'm grateful for my slow cooker. It seems a little ridiculous to be so in love with a kitchen appliance, but if I could only have one to take with me, it would be the one I pick.
They're versatile, low-maintenance and so easy to use. All things that I am grateful for. It has served me well. It feeds my family, as well as my creative side. You can do almost anything in a slow cooker.
I experiment with recipes and ingredients, and everything it has ever cooked has been pretty delicious.
I have started stockpiling freezer meals for this winter....as it has snowed about an inch since this afternoon, and looks like we will be getting a few more overnight. I'm less than thrilled. But at least I know I will be able to feed my family regardless of the weather.
Yay, slow cooker!

Today, I'm thankful for little things. One little thing in particular:
And if I'm being honest...two little things, every 6 hours.
